How to use KasbPro Pro free for life (and why most people should not bother)
Keep referring and Pro stays free indefinitely — there is no cap. But most small businesses never need Pro at all. An honest look at when this is worth your time.

Every paying referral adds 3 free months of Pro. There is no cap and no expiry. So the headline is true: refer consistently and you never pay for Pro again.
The more useful article is about whether you should be trying to.
First, check whether you need Pro at all
This is the part a referral post is not supposed to tell you.
Most small businesses on KasbPro never need to pay, because the free plan is not a trial or a teaser. Free covers:
- Unlimited income, expenses and transfers
- Unlimited team members — no per-seat charge, ever
- Sales invoices and purchase bills with themed PDFs
- Payroll runs, attendance and leave
- CRM with a deal pipeline and quotations
- Roles and data scoping, so staff never see payroll
- Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Trial Balance
- The general ledger, receivables and payables with aging
- MCP access, so you can point ChatGPT or Claude at your own books
If that list covers what you do, chasing free months of Pro is effort spent earning something you would not otherwise buy.
What Pro actually adds
| Pro feature | Who genuinely needs it |
|---|---|
| Branch & Project P&L, Budget vs Actual, Tax/VAT summary | Multi-site or multi-project businesses |
| Draft Audit Report (PDF + Word) | Anyone handing a pack to an accountant or auditor |
| AI Accountant and AI insights | People who want to ask questions rather than build reports |
| AI receipt and voucher scanning | Anyone entering receipts by hand in volume |
| File attachments and Google Drive sync | Businesses that must keep source documents |
| Priority support | Teams where downtime costs money |
That is a real list, and $49 a year is not a lot for it. But it is a specific list. If none of those rows describes you, the free plan is not a stepping stone — it is the product.
If you do want Pro, here is the path
The reward is 3 free months per referral that becomes a paying customer. Both sides get it. Four conversions cover a full year.
| Conversions per year | Outcome |
|---|---|
| 1–3 | Part of the year covered |
| 4 | The whole year covered |
| 4 every year | Pro free, permanently |
| 8 in one year | Two years covered in advance |
Sustaining it needs about four genuine recommendations a year — roughly one a quarter. For a founder who talks to other founders, that is not a campaign; it is a normal year of conversations.
For someone who does not, it is a treadmill, and $49 is less than that effort is worth.
The failure mode to avoid
The people who earn least from referral programmes are the ones who start treating everyone as a prospect.
Referrals only pay when the other business genuinely converts and stays. A referral sent to someone who does not need it will not convert, earns nothing, and costs you a small amount of credibility. Do that ten times and you have spent something more valuable than $49.
The referrals that convert are almost always sent to someone whose specific problem you already knew about. There is a whole article on how to do that without being annoying, and the short version is: mention it once, to the right person, and disclose the reward.
Why the offer can be this open
Because the arithmetic works without a ceiling. Each conversion gives away about $24.50 of Pro time across both sides and brings in a customer paying $49 — net positive every time, so there is no referral number at which we would want to stop you.
That is also why the reward is time and not a discount. Your renewal date moves; the price never changes. A discount would decay as prices changed and would mean two customers paying different amounts for the same thing. Three months of Pro is three months of Pro, permanently, and everyone stays on one price.
The honest recommendation
If you already recommend KasbPro, take the link — you are giving away three free months to a friend and getting three yourself for a conversation you were having anyway.
If you would have to talk yourself into recommending it, do not. Use the free plan, which genuinely covers running a business, and pay the $49 in the year you actually need an audit pack or AI scanning.
A referral programme that only pays when it is deserved is the only kind worth having.
